Switching franchises, most incarnations of Star Trek did it as well, from those blokes with the half black/half white faces in the original to Commander Riker copping off with a androgynous alien who causes a fuss as they wish to identify as female.

Purely down to Gene Roddenberry and his Humanitarian beliefs. Frequently fighting the studios, who wanted to introduce Gawd. The whole Star Trek universe is based on his belief system.

Have a look at Q and the way his character is portrayed through the series. Or the Humanitarian funeral service in the one where Beverley Crusher gets laid by a spirit entity.

Then when Roddenberry died, religion crept in...

Christ. Isn't it pretty well understood that most sci-fi is allegory for the zeitgeist, or the author's own philosophies?
If you watched some of the Pertwee episodes in the early 1970s, it positively shouted it at you.
Also some of the McCoy from the late 1980s.
Which ones had you got in mind, TWA? In my example I was thinking of stuff like The Green Death ?

One father, Simon Gurd, raged: 'Put CBeebies on for my daughter and they are referring to "snowpeople".

'More PC garbage and indoctrination from the BBC. Another reason to abolish the licence fee.'

This quote seemed a little too 'perfect' so went to have a look for him on Twitter:

Basically a walking talking cliche. I'm far from a conspiracy theorist but I think this is some sort of 'sockpuppet' account and go-to for quotes from shitty tabloids.
