Evidently the tradition of Johnny Pornmag, who scatters them in woodlands and on railway ridings for teenagers to discover, has not yet reached the West country.

I blame the internet. Bloody milennials!

Paris Match?

Aye, when I were a lad, there was the odd nip but you could get better in the NME. Or Kay's catalogue. Or Stern, which we used to nick from the language lab for - ahem - homework.
I hit my three-times-a-day years when dialup was about, but hard to get access to as a kid. I was fortunate enough to own a laptop with a CD-ROM drive, which left me furiously scouring Microsoft Encarta for anything that could remotely be rubbed off to. Thankfully, at that age, it really didn't take much. Whatever encyclopedia articles I managed to finish to are now thankfully between me and my 133Mhz, 32Mb RAM, 540Mb HDD Thinkpad 560. Those were the days.

Anybody reading this article in the Welwyn and Hatfield Times would be forgiven for thinking it's now illegal to ride mountain bikes in Welwyn Garden City..

Boy fined for riding off-road bike in Welwyn Garden City

Riding an off-road bike without L Plates or insurance is perfectly legal. Riding an off-road motorbike on the other hand...
