Worrying about climate change as a shoo-in for 'VIP takes a helicopter ride' is a very slow news day. Is Wilf Lunn still alive to build them a bicylopter?

Yup.

it sank a bit lower yesterday with comments about the Birmingham v Villa game that referred to a "protest" by the Justice for the 21 group that had to be "restrained" by police. it was actually a fundraising collection to help with their legal costs.

I discovered I know little about the parliamentary process in the past few weeks and that the Sun knows even less. Or pretends not to know to its readers. The last sentence reads like the Sun doesn't want to play Billy Big Balls with their ERG pals anymore.
Shameless Speaker John Bercow destroys Brexit deal hopes with his most destructive abuse of power yet
With our entire future is in the balance and only one deal on the table, Mrs May is having to fight a Remain majority AND a bent referee

NOW Remainers have their reward for keeping the most obnoxious, discredited and shameless Commons Speaker of modern times in his job.

John Bercow, with Britain desperate for a deal to secure Brexit, scuppered the only one on the table with his most disgraceful abuse of power yet.

He unearthed a rule from 1604 saying MPs couldn’t vote twice for the same proposition. The same man who two months ago trashed centuries of procedure to help Remainers now says we must stick rigidly to ancient rules.

But you can bet your house he will allow multiple votes on defeated amendments for a second referendum, or for his Remainer pals to seize power.

Our entire future is in the balance. Theresa May’s deal is the only route to an orderly exit, fulfilling the mandate of the 17.4million majority, as she must. A third vote is unarguably in the public interest. For Bercow to halt it is monstrous.

Mrs May is having to fight a Remain majority AND a bent referee.

For three years Remainers have plotted to destroy Brexit. They’re nearly there. Bercow has almost delivered it.

The political consequences will be catastrophic, especially for the Tories. Too few seem to know or care.

The PM’s only hope is to present her deal again next week with a delay tacked on, or some other substantial change agreed with Brussels. That would be a different proposition and hard to ignore. But if Bercow fears that could pass, he will doubtless find a way.

As for Tory Brexiteers holding out against the deal, we have to ask: Still think you’re winning?

Interesting, I thought The Scum would have been in the No Deal camp? The Little Englander angle is a much easier sell to its buyers.

Interesting that they say Bercow stuck his oar in a couple of months ago but don't bother to explain it any further, no?

Mrs May blew her majority and acted like she had one. There's not a lot of thunder and fury from Tory backbench rebels about Bercow whose had their backs when May's pulling strokes. Scuppering May's deal on the back of a 17th-century precedent, what's not for Rees-Mogg to like?

The Sun, can, as ever, fuck right off.

I appreciate that May didn't cause this balls up in the first place, but her handling of it since day 1 of her Premiership has been completely incompetent.

She has not recognised the concerns of the 16.2m who voted to remain, the 37m who didn't or couldn't vote, and 75% of people who voted leave.

Instead, she has always put the interests of the most rabid leavers first, the ERG, the DUP, the Mail, the Sun. They have nothing to whinge about.

And the minute somebody has the temerity to say "Hold up a tick, shouldn't we just have a think about this?" they have a massive tantrum like the self entitled tosses they are.

In conclusion, pimholes.

You've forgotten something.

YOU are of no consequence.

The preservation of unity in the Tory Party is EVERYTHING and transcends ALL.

They were very much in the "Just walk away (without a deal) camp" not too long ago but they quickly dropped that like a hot fucking potato and made no mention of it again. I'm guessing it dawned on them that it may come back and bite them in the arse. Too late, though. All their previous "No Deal is a better than a Bad Deal" editorials are there for all to see!

Tomorrow's chip wrapper.

Just as they went, following the vote:

"Kick out all the Poles!"

Polish man gets knifed.

"We didn't want this!"

Some might think that the Sun are occasionally guilty of misjudging their readership. Not so. They know perfectly well that they have the boot boys on one hand, and the quiet "Don't want to make a fuss" old puffins on the other. Who aren't keen on anyone different, but would never rise above tutting.

Both groups, of course, love a bit of a thrill looking at pictures of other people getting beaten up.
