Winter 2014 set to be 'coldest for century' Britain faces ARCTIC FREEZE in just weeks

WINTER 2014 is on track to be the coldest for more than a CENTURY with Britain just weeks away from a crippling ARCTIC FREEZE.

Nathan Rao 10 Oct 2014
Heavy and persistent snow, freezing gales and sub-zero temperatures threaten to grind the country to a standstill for up to FIVE MONTHS, horrified long-range weather forecasters have warned.
James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather said “significant snowfall” is likely in WEEKS with savage frosts and thick winter fogs threatening widespread misery.

George Monbiot wrote:There is bullshit, utter bullshit and Daily Express headlines. Reading the paper on Wednesday 1 April, I hadn’t the faintest idea which stories were supposed to be serious and which were April fools.

ARCTIC FREEZE ALERT: Britain braced for blizzards and gales as temperatures plunge to -10C
Swathes of the country face bitter gales, snow and the threat of blizzards as the nation is thrust back into the freezer.
Really?? On the Met Office site:
Although temperatures will be largely mild, there is likely to be some colder spells bringing the risk of wintry showers, mainly in the north.
Temperatures are expected to be above normal for the time of year for most, although with colder interludes more frequent across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Later in February and into March there are signs of a quieter and rather colder spell developing, but confidence remains low in the likelihood and details of this development.

Why does cold weather in winter always have to be "Arctic" in Express world anyway?
