53 Stories about Phone Hacking and Illegal Private Investigators at theDaily Mail and Mail on Sunday
Graham Johnson
27 August 2020
The big problem for Mr Dacre is that giving the wrong evidence to a public inquiry – especially under oath – is a straight-forward criminal offence under the Inquiries Act 2005. Which is the real reason why the full list of our 53 stories below is important. That means, that if Byline Investigates is right, and Paul Dacre is wrong, he faces up to 51 weeks in jail. And it’s much easier to prove than, say, perjury, by the way.

Maybe the reason for Dacre's lack of a knighthood is now becoming clear.

Government Procurement Scandal Continues with£43.8 Million PPE Contractfor Dormant Firm
Sam Bright
2 September 2020
New documents reveal that TAEG Energy has earned more than £52 million in Government deals in total for the supply of personal protective equipment during the Coronavirus pandemic
This follows a series of controversial Government PPE deals that have been unearthed during the Coronavirus crisis.

Just yesterday, Byline Times revealed that Boris Johnson’s administration has shelled out £364 million on protective overalls, yet has delivered just 432,000 to health and social care services. At £840 a pop, they were either manufactured by Gucci, or something has gone seriously wrong.

Under pressure from lawyers, the Government has also been forced to admit that other contracts simply haven’t produced the goods.

An advisor to the Government’s Board of Trade, for example, brokered a deal for the firm Ayanda Capital to supply £252 million worth of face masks to the DHSC, yet roughly £150 million worth of these masks reportedly aren’t fit for use in the NHS, due to the ear fastenings not meeting safety standards. The other £100 million of masks, meanwhile, were still undergoing tests at the beginning of August.

The chief executive of Ayanda Capital insists all its masks have met Government safety standards.

Then there are the contracts doled out to Conservative insiders – including £1 million in deals handed to Public First, a company co-founded by a former colleague of Downing Street supremo Dominic Cummings and the co-author of the 2019 Conservative Manifesto.

This is in addition to the £3 million contract handed to Topham Guerin – the firm that ran the Conservatives’ social media operation during the 2019 General Election, the new managing director of which is the sister of a Conservative lord.

In total, it has been estimated that £180 million worth of PPE contracts have been handed to individuals with links to the Conservative Party.

More on Ma*l criminality. Maybe an 'activist lawyer' might pick up on this...

MailBOMB 22: Kylie Minogue and Kate Moss Were Illegally Targeted by Daily Mail Journalist Richard Simpson

https://www.bylineinvestigates.com/mail ... rd-simpson
Dacre infamously told the Leveson Inquiry that phone hacking did not take place at the Daily Mail.

He also claimed that the Daily Mail stopped using private investigators in 2006.

However, Byline Investigates has repeatedly revealed that both claims aren’t true.

This is the 54th story that we have written about criminality at Associated News, and you can read the full archive on Byline Times.

By giving the wrong evidence to a public inquiry, Dacre is likely to have broken the law, an offence under the Inquiries Act 2005, punishable by up to 51 weeks in jail.

Tory Hussars In the Last Battle Against Themselves
Otto English
8 September 2020

As the Conservative party rebels against its own ‘oven-ready’ EU deal, Otto English sees a parallel with the absurd self-defeat of the Austrian Army in the catastrophic Battle of Karánsebes
Boris Johnson, according to no less a source than his former employer the Telegraph, thinks that the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement “makes no sense”.

Of course, the Prime Minister is perfectly entitled to his opinion but it is worth pointing out that this is his very own work he’s opposing: the ‘Boris Johnson oven-ready deal’; the one which was sold to us as a quick and easy microwavable agreement.

In late 2019, Johnson told us it was “good to go”. All we had to do was ‘prick it with a fork’ and ‘slam it in the oven’ and three minutes later ‘ping’ – Brexit would be done and we could all get on with our lives.

It was a disgraceful deceit but there’s nothing new in that. Johnson’s entire modus operandi over the past 20 years has been one long game of Would I Lie to You? in which he always does...
