Well The Sun have certainly grasped the chance to be outraged about the Jo Brand comment:

Toxic Brand

IMAGINE the revulsion if a Tory “joked” about maiming Jeremy Corbyn with acid.

They would be shamed — and hounded out of their job by a Twitter mob.

When Jo Brand says it about politicians she dislikes, the BBC Radio audience guffaws and the Left thinks brave, funny Jo really stuck it to the bad men.

These puke-making double standards are given an unchallenged platform by our publicly funded yet blatantly partisan national broadcaster.

OAPs who will soon be forced to pay for it will be even more outraged today.

A Ukip candidate who made obnoxious rape “jokes” about a Labour MP was rightly vilified. So should Brand be.

Our politics is volatile enough without morons from the “kinder, gentler” Left fantasising about disfiguring opponents.

I can't remembered how they covered it but I do know that "freedom of speech no matter how offensive" was used a hell of a lot to defend him by the same people who are "outraged" by the Brand joke.

Also, isn't it the Alt-Right types who apparently despair at the state of comedy to the point where they've created their own comedy night*, frequented by the likes of Prison Planet's Paul Watson, which allows Right wing comedians to tell "non PC" jokes without judgement or persecution? You'd have thought this is exactly the type of freedom of speech in comedy that they profess to protect. But as usual with these Right wing hypocrites, the second the tables are turned they are the absolute kings of being offended.

*Inside London's 'Free Speech' Comedy Night
Comedians who believe you "can't say anything anymore" performed to a who's who of the British right: Paul Joseph Watson, Toby Young and Breitbart editor James Delingpole.

In all honesty, bring as sensible and sensitive as possible, it's not like anyone listening to Brand wouldn't be familiar with the rudiments of her comic style and her general misanthropy. It's not like it was some anodyne daytime head on the One Show. Context is still a thing, isn't it?

No. Not where Farage, the right generally and the media are concerned.

Reminds me of the attitudes of playground bullies, to be honest. One word, taken out of context, justifies any stupid reaction. And it's not because she's a leftie, oh no, not at all.
