I wonder if they'll ever think about why democracy and the law are distinct entities that have immensely complex relationships, meaning elected judges are very different to unelected ones.

As deftly pointed out in the replies, electability is not the same as competence, and anyone feeling it is is welcome to avail of an elected surgeon, dentist or doctor.

It takes quite a brain to propose elected judges as a means of depoliticising the judiciary.
