That's a reasonable idea.

Swinson's constituency results are quite interesting.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Dunb ... _the_2010s

Though she lost her seat in 2015, she only lost 2.3 points of her vote, much lower than you might expect. Maybe she has a local following? Lots of unionist voters for her to squeeze locally to beat the SNP.

Then again, she has looked awful in the campaign.

Not sure where Morgan was getting her figures from.

Last time I was involved ina community football project a new pitch form scratch cost around £1,300,000.
That was for lights, draininage, changing rooms fencing.

So 550million won't deliver "thaasans of em".

Of course if Nicky wants to sprinkle a bit of grass seed (Seed funding - geddit!) over some wasteland and paint some white lines annually, she might get a couple of hundred done - and can then call it "thousands".

Some other not so good general polls. Plus some interesting constituency ones.

A big ask for people to get their tactical voting together in all these seats- assuming that the Labour and Lib Dem voters in each do actually want to vote tactically, of course. Wonder where Anne Milton's vote could go in Guildford.

Some magnificent turns of phrase from Frankie Boyle, including one that would be at home in the Mrs Gove thread...

I'm sure that this was done in the best interests of the NHS.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/201 ... _News_Feed
An anonymous online poster who disseminated documents later brandished by Jeremy Corbyn as evidence the Conservatives would put the NHS “on the table” in US trade talks was part of a campaign directed by Moscow, the site hosting the papers has said.

On Friday evening, Reddit confirmed it has banned 61 accounts; including that of a user called Gregoriator, who it believes was part of a Russian information operation known as Secondary Infektion.

The anonymous user posted copies of the leaked official documents on the site in late October. Corbyn presented the same documents at a news conference last week, saying they “leave Boris Johnson’s denials [that the NHS would be for sale] in absolute tatters” and touting them as “evidence that, under Boris Johnson, the NHS is on the table and will be up for sale”.

Reddit insisted the post garnered minimal interest at the time and Labour has declined to reveal where it obtained the documents. The government has said it believes they are genuine.

North Devon just on the news. A farmer who'd voted Remain set out clearly the doubts he has about being able to export his products post Brexit, before saying he now wants wants to leave and that "we'll have to work through it". Nothing against the bloke, I suppose he just felt the first referendum was decisive and wants to move on. I worry there's a lot of that about.

Fair bit of this sort of stuff on west country local news, some farmers wondering where their subsidies are going to come from, some fisher folk realising that their markets are screwed. Whether more are going to admit that they've been wrong in the privacy of a polling booth remains to be seen.

Should be a happy hunting ground for Jo Swinson's Liberal Democrats, but (as nationally) seems more of a damp squib the closer polling day gets. Used to be Paddy Ashdown's turf, and before that David Penhaligon was popular. but not much to give that impression. Notable that Tories are out in force (except, for reasons we can only attribute to a sudden attack of self-awareness, or orders from on high, Rees-Mogg).

The Lib Dems will be aghast at those Southport numbers, considering it's a seat which they just about managed to retain at the peak of their post-coalition meltdown. Moderately encouraging numbers for Labour, to be at 35% in a constituency with zero Labour tradition suggest that, maybe, the picture elsewhere might not be quite so bleak?

Is Southport a suburban seat with a younger that average population? John Curtice on Marr was trying to point out that Labour is now the party of the young across the socio-economic divide. Older Labour working classes voters are now just voting along the same lines as middle class Tories of their age group.

The Tory MP in North Devon is retiring, which might help the Liberals. But I reckon generally their Brexit position could be a problem in the West Country.

Southport? Golf courses and yachting marinas. Old, fat and gated. It's where scousers who have made a few bob move to.
