The Canary potentially being taken down is nothing but good news. First thing after the result Mendoza did is blame a Jewish person.

Was the outrage amplified? Sure. Were there Tories being utterly hypocritical about it? Absolutely. Has Corbyn’s handling of antisemitism, and enabling of genuine left-wing antisemites, been awful? Also yes.

Yes especially to the last two that caused attitudes such as the one expressed in that caller, by being so dismissive of the issue, by trying to gaslight them and accuse Jews of weaponising the issue, by just treating the Jewish community like utter shit. This was blowback for all of that.

I will always be wary about a government looking to at the very least intimidate news media, however unpalatable they might be.
I absolutely agree with this - but again, The Canary is not news media. It is a propaganda site with no objectivity, run by a person who has made extremely questionable statements.

You have to wonder what tin-eared parting shot Jeremy is lining up over this. Bonus points for him mentioning palestine and how he has opposed all forms of racism since birth.

So basically "we demand the Board of Deputies shut up and worship Corbyn like we do". Sounds a real winner that idea.

You know that somewhere, right now, a Corbyn fan is going through everything Starmer has ever said to find something that can even slightly be construed as antisemitic just so they can cry foul when it isn’t made front-page news.

“But he said once that he didn’t like the book Treasure Island, and there’s a character in that called Israel. That’s *blatant* antisemitism right there, and yet the faultless Jeremy Corbyn - who is so dedicated he single-handedly negotiated peace in Ireland despite not even being present for any of the meetings - is dragged over the coals for simply giving people the benefit of the doubt on multiple occasions for accidentally repeatedly posting Nazi memes. It’s DISGUSTING.”

Rachel from Swindon* may have finally blown it, it seems. The tweet is gone but the screenshots of it are getting a ton of traction and none of it good for her** for obvious reasons. It's like some sort of Corbynite extinction burst.

*Rachel from Swindon's husband, Jon, who is actually the one who runs the account after he got himself banned ages ago.
