I think that if you asked him what his job was, he would say "to sell newspapers". If the easiest way to do that is by, well, you know his M.O., then so be it. Otherwise though, his obsession seems to be "outward respectability". Plus a dose of do as I say, not as I do.

I'm not clear about Oborne's tweets. Dacre isn't widely enough known to the masses, certainly not enough to
act as a distraction from any other story. We know of him obviously, most wouldn't. First he says to distract from the lockdown and then he says another story that would break yesterday evening.

It's no matter, I 'm just genuinely unclear about Oborne's tweets.
