Plenty of Labour people who were fans of Corbyn who now are happy with Starmer.

Anyhow I’ve just read Kamala Harris book, she is smart about this stuff, Labour could learn a lot, though to me I think the current leadership are similar in terms.

If you think about it Harris and Biden said very little of what they would do but her career is driven by actions not words. Have to say I’m mightily impressed and I think it shows people like her can still reach high office on what effectively is a social democratic approach, however does she use left, social democratic, socialism. No she doesn’t, maybe it’s something the left in Europe need to consider.

"Richard Leonard has resigned as Scottish Labour leader, saying it is in the best interests of the party for him to stand down.

Mr Leonard said he believed speculation about his leadership had become a "distraction".

And he said he would be stepping down with immediate effect."

I don't have much of an opinion on him. Think it's just been very hard for Labour to compete with Nationalists who get for achievements in the Scottish Government, while running as the Opposition to the UK Government at the same time.

He doesn't seem to have done any better than the "Blairite" leaders (who weren't Blairites, apart from the ill-chosen Jim Murphy). There was a big effort to prop him up recently which seems to have been a spectacular waste of time.

Over the last couple of weeks I've been reading Ernest Bevin: Labour's Churchill by Andrew Adonis. Reading that book I couldn't help but contrast Ernie with Len. Ernie ousted the ineffectual George Lansbury Len backed Corbyn to the hilt. Ernie fought for his members Len puts his own interests first. Ernie wanted to ensure Labour got into power and backed Clement Attlee one of Labour's best leaders to the hilt when others like Bevan and Laski were trying to undermine him. Len by contrast couldn't pick a winner in a one horse race.
