The Corbyn fanclub on Twitter were raving about that socialist telly interview the other night. Not a peep on the universal credit vote.

Even when something is *absolutely* what they would support in other circumstances, they can't even bring themselves to mention it if in doing so they inadvertently admit Starmer's Labour party do actually tackle the Tories and do want to help the least well off. And that says everything about them - it's not about injustice or helping people, it's about their need to perpetuate a myth that only a certain brand of socialism is capable of doing good and everyone else is scum. And conveniently, it's their brand.

Asa Winstanley was suspended from the Labour Party several times for antisemitism during Corbyn's leadership, he finally left Labour a year ago prior to his impending expulsion.

I can think of several reasons why this appointment might be a positive.

He seems very well qualified.
As his job entails countering online anti-Labour smears, it's ironic that the Corbynistas are against the appointment after years of complaining about Jeremy being 'smeared'.

If only Corbyn had thought to employ someone like Kaplan.
