Until they mentioned Zac Goldsmith they can fuck off with this. Whatever point they might have is completely undone by the fact this is purely political point scoring to The Sun. Goldsmith is the perfect example of cronyism and the need to at least reform the Lords but not a fucking word about him by The Sun.

Had our Phil

IT is madness for Downing Street to make failed Chancellor Philip Hammond a peer.

We can barely think of a faster way to finally destroy the Lords’ reputation — aside, of course, from sending the odious ex-Speaker Bercow there.

Brexit derangement turned Hammond from grey bean-counter into Remoaner fruitcake, spouting bogus internet conspiracy theories about Boris Johnson.

Before that he wrecked our negotiating position by holding back No Deal funding, then tried to drive us towards a meaningless, supersoft Brexit.

In the end the Tories had to fire him.

We can just about understand why Boris, hoping to reunite his party, would make Ken Clarke a Lord. He was a good Chancellor — and never hid or wavered from his europhile fanaticism, much as we disliked it. Hammond is remembered only for his disloyalty and sacking.

Why are so many career failures rewarded with a peerage?

As for Bercow’s, proposed by the moron Corbyn, it must be dead in the water.

If the bullying allegations and his blatant anti-Brexit bias as Speaker hadn’t sealed his fate then his nasty, vindictive, score-settling little book surely has.

It has even moved House of Commons chiefs to condemn him for criticising their staff by name — and to invite bullying victims to come forward.

We can only hope it marks the shameful end Bercow richly deserves.

#dontbuythesun trending again. Would be nice to see it as welcome in Manchester* as it is in Liverpool. Meanwhile, I read recently that around 15% of the S*n's revenue is eaten up by paying for phone hacking settlements (The Guardian via Mr Fenton). Here's hoping that it's soon flushed away on a tide of disgust like the rancid turd it is.

The "I just went along to see, and didn't realise it would all kick off" defence, has saved not one schoolboy from detention.

It could get tasty if:
1. Police collar some of the perpetrators.
2. Said perps cooperate, and testify that the Sun's people agitated for more photogenic action.
3. Payment was involved..

Man Utd Nails The Sun
...there is the added suspicion that this may not be the Sun’s first offence. When Wayne Rooney was rumoured to be on the verge of leaving Man United back in 2010, perhaps even to join arch-rivals Manchester City, a group rocked up at his place. At night. Recorded by some rather clear photos.

This was suspected as a stunt in Manchester very quickly.

The only appropriate punishment for this disgusting, vile bog roll is to shut it down and fucking ban it.

Judging by the coverage in the Mirror today of Philip Schofield coming out, looks like at least one paper was threatening to out him themselves. I know who my money's on.

Schofield's apparently done an 'exclusive' with guess which Murdoch-owned scandal sheet? Coincidence?

The Sun is scraping the bottom of the Boris barrel already. The ‘Whitehall source’ doesn’t exist as no one said building the Chunnel was a mad idea. Bill Cash and dockers unions maybe.
BORIS BRIDGE Boris Johnson ramps up plans for £20bn bridge between Scotland and Northern Ireland to boost union

The PM has ordered officials in Whitehall to look at the project and whether it’s possible.

A Whitehall source told The Sun: “There were some people who thought the Channel Tunnel was a mad idea at the time.

“We are looking at the feasibility of a bridge and if it could be made to work.” https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/10926538/ ... and-union/
