With respect to the FT, Brexit was never about those things.

There were three main planks:
1. Make sure our financial pals can continue dodging the rules.
2. Keep the Tories who dream of a Britannia led Anglosphere onboard.
3. Launch a culture war to rile up the plebs and the rubes.

I wasn't sure where to put this. But the thought of all those Brexiter heads exploding at the sight of a Syrian refugee wearing tweed and sporting a Union Flag tipped me this way.
Anyway, it's a good cause and amusing too.

Take a look on line on any of the ten-a-penny right wing sites (The Spectator, Unherd, etc) and you'll find that it is a very common view that the Tories are a mere continuation of Blairite socialism.
